Ted Tucker's connection to Catalina Foothills School District spans more than three decades. He walked the halls of Manzanita Elementary, Orange Grove Middle School, and Catalina Foothills High School, graduating with the Class of 2001. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management, Ted built a career in marketing, media, and brand development, founding SkyWest Media and Terrafox Networks. Today, he is a Professional Certified Marketer through the American Marketing Association and leads a full-service team specializing in brand strategy, photography, videography, and creative campaign development.

Now a CFSD parent whose sons attend Manzanita Elementary, Ted's journey with the district has come full circle, and so has his generosity.

It started with Manzanita. Ted offered SkyWest Media's services to redesign the school's logo, bringing the same professional-grade attention to his children's school that his firm delivers to clients across the country. When the district saw the quality of his work, they approached Ted about taking on a much larger project: a new visual identity for CFSD.
Ted said yes, and he donated it all. Working alongside SkyWest Media graphic designer Serina Pack, Ted gave every hour of his time, his team's expertise, and the full resources of his firm to CFSD at no cost.

"When I saw what Ted and his team created for Manzanita, I knew they had the talent and the vision to help us tell our story at the district level," said Superintendent Dr. Denise Bartlett. "What made this project truly special is that Ted isn't just a skilled professional. He's a CFSD graduate and a CFSD parent. He knows this community in a way that no outside firm ever could, and that connection is reflected in every detail of the new logo."

What followed was a thoughtful, collaborative design process rooted in place. The district's creative brief asked Ted to capture the landscape that defines the Catalina Foothills community, translating it into a color palette drawn directly from the natural world outside the classroom window: the deep purple of mountain shadows at twilight, the muted sage green of desert foothills, the warm terracotta of desert earth, and the brilliant gold of an Arizona sunset. The new design features bold "CFSD" lettering with layered mountain silhouettes in those four signature colors, clean and distinctive, grounded in a sense of place.

The final deliverable went far beyond a single logo file. Ted and SkyWest Media provided a comprehensive brand package, including the logo in every professional format, organized color variations, social media and web-optimized assets, and a full brand guide with usage guidelines, clear space recommendations, color specifications, and typography details. Everything was organized to be intuitive and easy for staff across the district's eight schools to use.

You'll now see CFSD's new logo throughout the district's website, social media channels, advertisements, publications, and school materials, a visual identity that reflects who we are and where we live.

For Ted, the project was personal. "This logo will represent our community for years to come," the district noted when commissioning the work, and in Ted Tucker, they found a designer who understood that community from the inside out, as a student, a parent, and a professional who chose to give his best work back to the schools that helped shape him.
