Principal
Dr. Franco is a proud member of the Catalina Foothills community and the parent of three children. Two of her children are graduates of Catalina Foothills High School, and her youngest currently attends school in the Catalina Foothills School District. She is honored to serve the Falcon community and looks forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to continue the tradition of excellence at CFHS.

Mrs. Cari Burson
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director
Mrs. Cari Burson returns as our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director, bringing over eight years of prior experience in this role.
Over the past year, she expanded her impact at the University of Arizona, where she led the development of strategic partnerships and dual enrollment initiatives with high schools, community colleges, and Career and Technical Education Districts (CTEDs) across the state.
Mrs. Burson holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Across her 30-year career, she has served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, program director, and administrator, demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and college and career readiness.

Mr. Dale Ewart
Assistant Principal
Mr. Dale Ewart is an Assistant Principal with 25 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. Most recently, he served as Activities Principal in Palmer, Alaska, where he spent the past three years leading and supporting student activities and programs.
Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in educational leadership at both the school and state level. He previously served as Board President of the Alaska Schools Activities Association, where he contributed to supporting and advancing student activities across the state.
He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Science in Teaching. His professional strengths include organization, relationship building, and networking, with a strong focus on creating positive school communities and meaningful student experiences.
Mr. Ewart is married to Jeanne Ewart, an elementary school teacher. Together they have three grown children, ages 21, 23, and 26, and two very spoiled dogs. In his free time, he enjoys time with family and staying connected to the school community he serves.
Mr. Todd Garelick
Assistant Principal
Mr. Todd Garelick brings more than 32 years of experience in education, leadership, and athletics to Catalina Foothills High School. Originally from Austin, Texas, Todd was a collegiate athlete, competing in both soccer and tennis at Rockford College.
His educational journey includes studies at Regents College in London, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a post-baccalaureate degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Mr. Garelick began his career in education in the Paradise Valley area, where he taught for 14 years. He then moved to Ruidoso to begin his administrative career. After two years, he returned to Arizona and served as Associate Principal and Athletic Director for six years before becoming a high school principal for seven years at Mountain View High School. Throughout his career, he has also served as Principal at Tucson Hebrew Academy and Sonoran Science Academy, leading school communities with a focus on academic excellence, student development, and positive school culture.
In addition to his work in education, Mr. Garelick has an extensive background in coaching. He has coached soccer at the collegiate, high school, club, and Olympic Development levels, helping student-athletes achieve success both on and off the field.
Mr. Garelick is passionate about developing students, supporting educators, and building strong school communities that prepare young people for success in college, careers, and life.
Mr. Samuel Rolfe
Athletic Director
Mr. Sam Rolfe serves as the Athletic Director at Catalina Foothills High School, bringing more than two decades of experience in education, coaching, and student leadership to the role.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Hartford, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arizona.
Prior to joining Catalina Foothills High School, Mr. Rolfe spent 21 years at Catalina High School, where he taught Social Studies and Physical Education and served as a Student Government advisor. For the past two years he served as Dean of Students at Mansfeld Middle School. In addition to his teaching career, he has an extensive background as a coach in multiple sports including as a Head Football and Head Wrestling Coach.
As Athletic Director, he is passionate about creating opportunities for students to excel in academics, athletics, and life. He believes that education is the gateway to a promising future and is dedicated to helping students develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to achieve their goals and make a positive impact in their community.
Mr. Rolfe and his wife Annie are the proud parents of 2 current Catalina Foothills School District students and a graduate of the Catalina Foothills High School Class of 2024.
Mr. Tony Gerrettie
Assistant Principal
A native Tucsonan, Mr. Gerrettie is entering his 19th year in education. Before becoming a Falcon, he spent fifteen years at Salpointe Catholic, twelve as an English Teacher and three as Assistant Principal for Academics. He also coached Speech and Debate for ten years, helping students win multiple individual state championships, qualify for the National Tournament in 2012, and earn the title of Academic All-American. Summers were spent leading a tour of different countries in Europe to show students places they learned about in the curriculum.
At Catalina Foothills High School, Mr. Gerrettie taught English for two years and now he serves in his second year as Assistant Principal where he spends each day helping students become the best version of themselves. He is passionate about supporting teachers, helping students feel connected, and graduating with all they need to be successful at the next step of life. Fly high Falcons!
