Congratulations to the 2026 CFSD Legendary Teacher!

Ms. Crystal Dokhan, Ms. Wendy Armstrong, Ms. Wendy Baldwin & Mr. David Berk

Catalina Foothills School District is proud to recognize Wendy Baldwin, English Language Development (ELD) teacher at Canyon View Elementary School and Esperero Canyon Middle School, as CFSD’s 2026 Legendary Teacher. Wendy is known for her exceptional dedication, which extends beyond the school week through weekend tutoring. Her thoughtful and flexible approach to teaching ensures that every student is given the best chance to succeed.

Colleagues Wendy Armstrong and David Berk shared this kind tribute from her nomination letter:

“What makes you extraordinary is your ability to balance expertise with humility. During a difficult year, you patiently walked me through forms, procedures, and expectations, helping me become the best educator I can be.”

Ms. Baldwin's colleagues describe her as an inspiring educator who goes above and beyond, adapting lessons based on what her students are learning in their other classes and freely sharing her resources. Those who work alongside her use words like kind, effective, inspiring, and flexible to describe her impact every day.

For being selected as a Legendary Teacher, Ms. Baldwin will receive a $3,000 total value award, consisting of $1,000 in cash and a $2,000 gift certificate from Tucson Appliance.  The Legendary Teacher Day Foundation is grateful to Chris & Corbin Edwards for their generous sponsorship this year.

Congratulations, Ms. Baldwin, and thank you for making a difference in the lives of your students, families', and colleagues!
